What is MicrobeLibrary 2.0?
The newly restructured MicrobeLibrary will continue to feature outstanding science education resources. The library has been uncoupled from the Journal of Microbiology & Biology Education (JMBE) and now serves as the new open-access site for premier visual resources and protocols used in teaching microbiological and biological sciences. All resources in the previous version of MicrobeLibrary have been migrated to this new site except for the articles in the Focus in Microbiology Education (FOME) newsletter and the activities published in Curriculum Collection prior to 2009. However, these resources may still be found in the new MicrobeLibrary Archive website. These changes to the library and journal websites will provide authors with more visibility for their scholarly work, an important service for educators going through tenure and promotion processes.
Accessing the Site
ASM has deployed Single Sign On (SSO) as the enterprise-wide identity management system. This technology allows ASM Members to access participating ASM websites, including MicrobeLibrary, using only one username and password. If you do not have an ASM username and password, you will have to register to create an account.
During your first login to MicrobeLibrary you will be prompted to fill out a short demographics survey. Please take time to answer these few questions in order to help us better assess who is using the library site.
Please remember, although MicrobeLibrary is an open-access site, you must be logged in to access the following new features:
- Rating a resource
- Commenting on a resource
- Creating a list of personal favorites
- Viewing your last visited resource
- Editing your user profile
